It’s not about how much you make, it’s your mindset.

I was making minimum wage, living paycheck to pay check and I was tired of “feeling broke”. I set a goal of saving $1000 in 12 months. For me, that meant $500 deductible for my car and $500 for car repairs. I calculated 1000 divided by 12 (months) divided by 2 (paid twice a month) = ~$42.00 (rounding up) to save per paycheck.

Now it was time to make a decision, how was I going to come up with $42? I’m BROKE! Better yet, what was I going to subtract from my overall spending. There are bills you must pay, no getting around that and there are expenses that are luxuries. Luxuries are like going out to eat, shopping, nails/hair done, getting to the movies, daily coffee, etc.

If you’re making money you shouldn’t feel broke, change your mindset, you need to cut some luxuries to lose that “broke” feeling.
